  • When is HALLOWBOO!?

    Idlewild’s HALLOWBOO! takes place every Saturday and Sunday, September 23 – October 29.  It is a daytime event from 11:30 AM – 6:00 PM.

  • What does HALLOWBOO admission Include?

    A HALLOWBOO! ticket includes all-day access to rides and attractions, trick-or-treat trail, mazes, themed attractions like the Haunted Hollow Train Ride, Halloween shows, and character meet & greets.  It’s a can’t-miss event for the entire family!

  • Is HALLOWBOO! scary?

    Think of HALLOWBOO! as spooky and kooky more so than scary.  We aim to deliver a family-friendly experience to the generations of visitors who visit this event while also diving into the themes of Halloween.  Some themed attractions may be a little bit spookier than others, and parents of young children should use their discretion as always, but all-in-all, HALLOWBOO is an event that tries to delight all – young an old.

  • How do I get tickets for HALLOWBOO!?

    Unlimited admission is included with 2023 & 2024 Gold & Platinum Season Passes.  Single Day tickets are also available for purchase.  Follow us on social media for event announcements and special offers.  Admissions includes full access to all rides and attractions, shows, and character meets.

  • Can I visit HALLOWBOO! with my Season Pass?

    2023 and 2024 Gold and Platinum season Passholders receive full, unlimited access to HALLOWBOO!  Not a Season Passholder?

  • Are Costumes allowed during HALLOWBOO!?

    Yes, costumes are welcome and encouraged during this daytime, family-friendly event – especially while enjoying the Trick-or-Treat Trail through Story Book Forest.  Please note, however, that some costumes may not be permitted on select rides for safety purposes.  Also, Prop weapons and masks on adults are not permitted during HALLOWBOO!

  • Are Fog Machines and Strobe Lights Used?

    Yes, we use fog liberally during HALLOWBOO!, but in outside environments such as along the train ride or a the show stages.  If you find the smoke or odor too intense, please just step away from where it is used.  Strobe lights are used very sparingly and will have signage at the entrance to the attraction if present. 

  • Can I rent Strollers, Wagons, Wheelchairs, Electronic Scooters?

    A limited number of Strollers, Wagons, and Wheelchairs are available for rent at Guest Services located in Hootin’ Holler behind the General Store.  The park also has a limited number of motorized scooters.  All equipment rentals are available on a first-come, first-served basis and require a photo ID to be held as a deposit for the duration of the rental. 

  • What are the Methods of Payment?

    We welcome all major credit cards, debit cards and mobile payments at gates, gift shops and food stands. A photo ID may be required for all credit card payments. Checks, Travelers Checks, and Cash are not accepted at ticket booths, gift shops or food stands.  Guests may convert cash onto cards at one of several kiosks located around the park.  Any balance remaining on the card may be used anyhwere that cards are accepted.

  • Online Ticket/Purchase Assistance

    If you are in need of assistance with your online ticket purchases, or if you need to update payment information, please call the Call center at: 412-206-4182. A friendly representative will happily help you solve any issues or answer any questions regarding online tickets and purchases.

  • What if it Rains?

    Sorry, we do not issue rain checks or refunds simply because it rains during your visit and you want to leave the park, so please be aware of weather forecasts. Keep in mind that an overcast day often means shorter lines and just as many thrills! Most rides and attractions continue to operate in light rain. In the event of heavy downpours or an electrical storm, many rides and attractions will close until the storm has passed and then reopen.Our Great Day Guarantee provides a Return Visit Ticket when the park announces closing at least one hour prior to scheduled close due to weather or other circumstances. Return Visit Tickets are only issued to those with a valid wristband, and to receive this ticket, guests must present their valid wristband at Guest Services prior to leaving the park. (Season Passholders and free buddies are not eligible for free return visit tickets).

Park Policy & General Information

  • The following are prohibited items: 
    • Firearms, ammunition, knives and weapons of any kind.   
    • Any kind of hazardous chemicals or other substance, including acids or other items which appear suspicious to Park personnel
    • Mace/Pepper spray and other self-defense or restraining devices
    • Marijuana or any illegal substance
    • Fireworks or other similarly explosive or flammable objects
    • Spiked clothing or jewelry
    • Glass bottles
    • Spray paint or markers
    • Recreational devices such as drones, remote-controlled devices, laser pointers, skateboards, and shoes wit built-in wheels
    • Selfie sticks, monopods, and similar hand-held extension poles for cameras or mobile devices.
    • Pets.  Valid service animals are an exception to this. 
  • Alcoholic beverages are not permitted on park grounds. Idlewild and SoakZone is licensed by the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board to serve alcohol, and only alcohol sold by the park is permitted. No guest may bring alcohol onto the grounds. For events when alcohol may be served, product availability will not be marketed beyond menu signs in and around that location, and all transactions will be handled by Team Members certified through the Responsible Alcohol Management Program (RAMP). Guests purchasing beer will be required to show valid photo ID with proof of age and will be wristbanded as proof that they have been verified. Any beer and alcohol brought in from the outside is not permitted on park grounds, and will be disposed.
  • We strongly suggest that minors under the age of 18 be accompanied by a parent or adult guardian. The parent/guardian is solely responsible for supervision of their minors. The park does not assume any responsibility or liability for unattended minors. Children are the responsibility of the parent or guardian.
  • Idlewild and SoakZone is a family environment that is non-smoking.  As a courtesy to our guests and for safety reasons, we ask that smokers refrain from smoking in all areas of the park except for parking lots.  Smoking is prohibited in all queue lines, on all rides and attractions, inside pavilions, at all restaurant seating and theater locations, and general midway areas of Idlewild and SoakZone.  Management reserves the right to ask any guest to extinguish cigarettes/cigars/pipes immediately if they are not in a the designated smoking area (parking lots), and also to ask any guest to leave, without refund, for continued non-compliance.
  • We expect all guests to behave in a family-friendly manner.
    • Any profanity and unruly behavior are considered offensive to other park guests and could be ejected from the park without a refund
    • To ensure that all guests visiting Idlewild can enjoy their visit, and in keeping with our family-friendly environment, Idlewild maintains and enforces a dress code.  Guests should dress casually and comfortably as is appropriate for the local weather.  All Guests must wear proper attire, such as shirts/tops, shorts/pants, and footwear at all times within the park.  Idlewild reserves the right to deny admission to or remove anyone whose attire does not comply with the Guest Dress Code or could detract from the experience of other guests if the Guest refuses all reasonable options.  Guest requiring accommodations to our Guest Dress Code should visit Guest Services and speak to a member of the park management team.
  • Guest areas are strictly prohibited from entering restricted areas, including rider and backstage areas. Guests should contact the Ride Attendant or Lost and Found/Security to report lost items. Lost personal items will not be retrieved during operating hours. Guests must not attempt to retrieve their lost items. Guests who enter a restricted area may be ejected from the park without a refund. Lake Compounce reserves the right to take further action where appropriate.
  • Some rides are restricted by height. Please see our height checking system at Guest Services.
  • Hand-held infants are not permitted on most rides.
  • Children that cannot walk independently to the ride, disabilities excluded, are considered Hand Held Infants. Most rides and attractions cannot accommodate Hand Held Infants. 
  • Please review our Accessibility Guide before your visit. This guide contains a wealth of information regarding our safety instructions, health and accessibility information, first aid assistance, and more. You can also inquire with the friendly staff at Guest Services for more information during your visit.
  • Line jumping is strictly prohibited.  Guests who choose to leave a line for any reason may not return to the same spot and must reenter at the end of the line.  Guests are not permitted to save spots for other guests.  Violators are subject to ejection from the park without refund. 
  • Guests are permitted to bring their own picnic basket into in one of our scenic picnic groves or picnic areas aligning parking lots. Pavilions that are reserved for group events will be marked with a RESERVED sign. Any pavilion that is not reserved is open to the general public. You may claim some picnic tables within for your group, but please be courteous and share the pavilion with other parties. Grilling is not permitted within a pavilion, but must be done outside of any pavilion. Picnic baskets/coolers are not permitted within the park proper and should be kept in Pavilion and parking picnic areas only.
  • Idlewild is set within nature.  We do not control or restrain wildlife.  Wildlife exists in and around these facilities, and it can pose danger to people.  Please be aware that you may encounter the following creatures, among others;  Bears, Snakes, Snapping Turtles, Swans and Geese, Bobcats, Deer, Raccoons, and Skunks. Be cautious and respectful of all wildlife. Keep your distance, do not approach animals to "shoo" them away, take pictures, or otherwise. Never disturb, startle, harass or feed animals. Wild animals are not pets. All wildlife may be dangerous, especially if harassed, cornered or threatened. You may also encounter mosquitos, bees and wasps, spiders and other insects which may sting or bite, and which may carry disease. Please notify a park manager if you have safety concerns over a wildlife issue, or if you spot dangerous wildlife on park grounds. Thank you.
  • We offer free and convenient parking which can be found throughout the grounds. Handicap parking is available in all parking areas, but can be most commonly found in Lots A, B, C, D, and E.
