"Anyone who does anything to help a child in this life is a hero to me."
-- Fred Rogers
At Idlewild & SoakZone, we agree with our late friend Mister Rogers. That's what the Tickets for Children's Charities program is all about...helping others make a difference in the lives of children.
This program helps to provide lasting memories of summer fun to disadvantaged children and/or children with disabilities by providing tickets to the organizations directly serving them. Since 1992, the Kennywood family of parks in Western Pennsylvania - Kennywood, Idlewild & SoakZone, and Sandcastle - have donated over 400,000 days of fun.
Tickets can be used directly by individual children served by a qualifying organization or used as a fundraiser for the organization's benefit.Applications for the Idlewild Cares tickets are accepted and reviewed each fall and winter. Applications are accepted beginning September 1 with a deadline to submit ticket requests by January 31. A rotating committee of Team Members administers the program, with applications being reviewed in February with the awards made in March for the upcoming summer season. Applications are reviewed in the order they are received. (Requests received after Jan 31. will still be accepted and reviewed, but may only be awarded if there are tickets remaining in the allotted ticket pool.)
Please note that all individuals/organizations requesting tickets for 2022 must complete the application form below.
Please understand that Idlewild & SoakZone receives several hundred charitable donation requests each month. While our hearts go out to all charities and their dedicated work, we unfortunately cannot award tickets for every request. Therefore, since 1993, Idlewild began limiting ticket donations to charities specifically benefiting disadvantaged or disabled children.
For more than a century, Idlewild & SoakZone has worked to provide the finest in fun and entertainment for children, families and groups. To do so we've teamed with schools, churches, ethnic groups, communities and social service providers. This has been, and will continue to be, our mission.
COVID-19 UPDATE: Due to the continued effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on business conditions and park operations, donations during COVID-affected seasons may be limited. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
