Idlewild Extends the Family Fun with Longest HallowBOO! Ever

15 Days of Trick-or-treating, Fall Entertainment, Seasonal Treats and Family-Friendly Halloween Fun Begin September 12

LIGONIER, PA (September 8, 2026) – Fall family fun is bigger than ever as Idlewild’s HallowBOO! returns for its longest season yet.  Beginning Saturday, Sept. 12, The Best Kids Park in the World transforms into a colorful autumn wonderland for 15 days of trick-or-treating, seasonal entertainment, fall flavors, favorite rides and not-so-spooky Halloween fun designed especially for families. 

This year, guests can discover new surprises throughout the park, including two reimagined attractions in Hootin’ Holler.  The Legend of Lady Loyalhanna transforms the Loyalhanna Limited Railroad into a tale of Lady Loyalhanna, a mysterious overseer of the creek.  Nearby, guests can step inside Fisherman Frank’s Crooked Cabin, where things aren’t always quite as they appear. 

Spookley the Square Pumpkin™ will be in Hootin’ Holler throughout HallowBOO!, inviting families to enjoy special story times and meet-and-greets. Families can continue the fun with a full lineup of Halloween activities throughout the park, including:

• Treat Trail through Story Book Forest – Kiddos can collect treats from fairytale characters within Story Book Forest, including Goldilocks, Little Red Riding Hood and more.
• Laser Swamp and Mystic Wilds Jungle Maze – Two mystifying experiences take over the Jumpin’ Jungle. Visitors are invited to explore a foggy swamp of laser lights leading to a jungle labyrinth that they have to find their way out of.
• Castle Creatures Monster Party – A fun, interactive dance party featuring puppetry and plenty of crowd participation.
• Grigsby’s Trunk of Giggles – A quirky blue monster who lives inside a peculiar wooden trunk and communicates in his own puzzling, but charming, way will be making appearances throughout HallowBOO!
• HallowBOO! Foam Parties & Bubble Blasts – Families can dance along during an afternoon party filled with music, bubbles, and plenty of foam. 

Guests will also find flavors of fall throughout Idlewild with all-new seasonal treats created especially for HallowBOO!  Offerings include pumpkin spice and salted caramel funnel cakes, hot apple dumplings with vanilla Ice cream, seasonal waffle creations and other limited-time favorites during the event.

“The fall season at Idlewild has always been about giving families a fun way to enjoy the season together without being scary,” said General Manager Tim Heger.  “This year, with 15 days of HallowBOO!, new experiences, visits from Spookley, trick-or-treating and all of the returning favorites, families have more opportunities than ever to make the event part of their fall traditions.”

Special activities will add even more reasons to visit throughout the season, including a HallowBOO! Car Cruise on Saturday, September 26, and Kids Costume Parades during the final three weekends, October 18, 19, 24 and 25, and 31. Idlewild’s HallowBOO! runs Saturdays and Sundays from September 12 through October 31.  Visitors will be able to enjoy favorite rides and attractions alongside the park’s Halloween activities from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m.
